Tyler Hubbard Releases ‘Dancin’ In The Country’ With Keith Urban

Keith Urban is one of the writers on Tyler Hubbard‘s current Top 10 single, “Dancin’ In The Country,” and now the demo of the song, featuring both singers, is out. Urban and Hubbard wrote the tune with Jon Nite and Ross Copperman.

“I’ve always admired Keith Urban as a writer, but never had the chance to actually write a song with him,” Hubbard says of their collaboration. “Keith came into the writing session so engaged and ready to go where the ideas took us. Ross and Jon are two of the finest writers in town, and by the end of the day we had a song we all felt was special. It’s exciting to share a behind-the-scenes look at how a song comes together.”

“Spending a day with Tyler, Ross and Jon in the studio writing this song was a total blast,” adds Urban. “Especially creating the track with Ross – I love working fast, ideas flowing really quickly- a bass part, a ganjo part, a very intentionally 80s country super compressed electric guitar riff.”

When Hubbard joined Urban, Nite and Copperman in the writing room, his biggest goal was to write something light-hearted, inspired by his time with his family at home.

“We pretty much just had a good time,” Hubbard said on Apple Music Country’s Today’s Country Radio with Kelleigh Bannen. “I said, ‘Let’s write something that feels good. That’s really fun. That makes you want to dance.’ We’ve been having these dance parties every night at my house after dinner with our three kids… And so, I was sort of in that head space of, let’s just make some fun music.”

After a decade of reigning at the top of the charts as one-half of the  Florida Georgia Line duo, Hubbard recently celebrated his first No. 1 hit as a solo artist, with “5 Foot 9,” written about his wife, Hayley.

“Reaching No.1 with my first single as a solo artist is an incredible feeling,” Hubbard said at the time. “I’m overwhelmed with gratitude when I think of everyone who has supported and stood behind me. I’m thankful to the fans, country radio, my team, and everyone at EMI Records and UMG Nashville for believing in me and working so hard to make this dream become a reality.”

Hubbard enlisted America’s Got Talent host, Terry Crews, for the “Dancin’ In The Country” video. Both “5 Foot 9” and “Dancin’ In The Country” are from Hubbard’s eponymous debut solo album, out now.
