Carrie Underwood Brings The Denim & Rhinestones Tour Home to Nashville

It’s always good to play a hometown show, especially for Carrie Underwood. The American Idol  alum played at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, March 1, as part of her The Denim & Rhinestones Tour, bringing out both Brad Paisley and Jason Aldean to sing with her during her two-hour set.

“Still processing last night in Nashville at the Bridgestone Arena!” Underwood shared on social media, along with a few photos from the show. “The hometown crowd was INSANE!!! And I am so grateful that Brad Paisley and Jason Aldean came out to make it extra special! It was truly a night I will never forget! THANK YOU MUSIC CITY!!!”

Paisley not only sang their 2011, No. 1 duet, “Remind Me,” together, but they also resumed their on-stage comedic chemistry as well. The two referenced their years as co-hosts of the CMA Awards in a song they performed together, while also making fun of last year’s hosts, Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning.

“‘Cause you’re funnier than Luke,” Underwood sang, with Paisley adding, “And you’re prettier than Peyton.”

Underwood also showed off her newly-acquired aerial skills, which she began using thanks to her Reflection Las Vegas residency. She first debuted them in her “Ghost Story” video.

“It was my idea,” the singer reveals on Lon Helton’s Country Countdown USA. “I’m the one who put myself in the air. We had my show in Vegas, and we had aerialists. I would watch them every night, and it looked like a challenge. So for this song, the reason I wanted this as the first single was because I could do a lot with it and I want to fly. I’m not a daredevil, but I like to push myself. Sometimes that involves a little danger. Why not? You only live once.”

Jimmie Allen, who is serving as the opening act for all dates, joined Underwood for the title track of her latest album, Denim & Rhinestones. The Denim & Rhinestones Tour will wrap up on March 17. Find a list of all of Underwood’s remaining shows at CarrieUnderwoodOfficial.com.
