Underwood sings frequently at her church when she is in town. Last year, she was recorded after singing “Goodness of God.” She also sang “O Holy Night” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” at her church’s Christmas program in 2024.
Underwood loves celebrating Christmas, especially with her family.
“For me growing up, Christmas was always just comforting,’ Underwood says. “We always had the same stockings and the same tree and the same decorations, and we would always decorate the weekend right after Thanksgiving. Flip the Christmas switch, put the tree up. Now that we’re adults and have kids, we can go to the Christmas tree farm and we can walk around, and we can pick out which one and ask Isaiah, ‘Which one do you think?’ Just things like that, making those memories. It’s just a joyful time of year.”

Carrie Underwood Talks About Her Strong Christian Faith
Underwood has been vocal about her Christian faith. In 2021, she released her album, My Savior. She also launched Savior Sunday Daily, a faith-based station, available on the SiriusXM app, as well as Savior Sunday Daily, which is part of her Carrie’s Country channel on SiriusXM.
“I want our children, I think just above everything –– this goes for everybody, everywhere too –– [to know] you are loved, and you are wanted,” Carrie said on the I Am Second web series, God & Country. “There are some not too great things that happen in the world, and happen within families. We are all flawed, and our flaws, I think, ripple out onto everybody else. But through everything, I want the people in my life that I love to know that they are loved by God. They are wanted.
“God wouldn’t have made any of us if He didn’t want us,” she continued. “I feel like that’s part of my purpose in the world, no matter who you are or what you’ve done, or any of it. If I could just make everybody feel that they are loved. I feel like that’s my job. That’s my job as a parent, too. Of course, I have a forever love, unconditional love for my children, but God has real unconditional love for His children.”
