Carrie Underwood to Launch ‘Carrie’s Country’ SiriusXM Channel

Carrie Underwood is getting her own SiriusXM channel. The global superstar’s Carrie’s Country channel will launch in June, joining artists like Kenny Chesney, Eric Church and more who have their own channels.

Underwood’s channel will feature not only her music, but music of artists who inspire her and helped shape her own career, along with songs by artists, of all genres, whom she enjoys listening to today, including Keith Urban, Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley, Miranda Lambert,  AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, The Rolling Stones, and more.

“I’m thrilled to partner with SiriusXM on my new channel,” Underwood says in a statement. “I can’t wait to welcome listeners into my personal musical universe, sharing my favorite music across all of the genres I love, from classic rock to the latest in country.”

“Carrie Underwood is one of country music’s biggest and most multi-faceted artists today, and to collaborate with her on her very own SiriusXM channel is truly special,” adds Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM’s President and Chief Content Officer. “Carrie’s Country will give listeners and fans the opportunity to connect with her on a new level, beyond her musical choices and influences, as she curates the channel’s programming. We welcome her to the SiriusXM family as we continue to expand our country music offerings to our subscribers.”

Underwood, who recently extended her REFLECTION: The Las Vegas Residency, due to fan demand, has two important Grand Ole Opry performances coming up in the next several weeks. The American Idol alum will perform on May 13, in honor of her 15th anniversary of becoming an Opry member. She will return for two back-to-back shows on June 6, joining The Oak Ridge BoysJosh TurnerBill Anderson and Lainey Wilson in helping kick off CMA Fest week in Nashville.

The “Hate My Heart” singer is working on a new album as well. She recently debuted a new song, “Out Of That Truck,” which seems to be from her next record, less than a year after Denim & Rhinestones was released.

“I feel like musically, we wanted ‘Out Of That Truck’ just to feel like … I’m gonna use the word ‘rock’ super loosely,” Underwood said of the song. “We wanted it to be driving, and guitar-heavy. It’s not an aggressive song at all, so we didn’t want to push it there, but we just wanted it to move and have some energy. I have an affinity for guitars, so it was one of those wanting it to take you somewhere, and you can sing along with it.”

“It’s just kind of a cool vibe, trying to look at doing a country truck song in a different kind of way,” she added. “Just wanting it to be moving, and kind of a bit of a tempo.”
