Chapel Hart Announces Release of New Single, ‘Glory Days’

After landing in the Top 5 on America’s Got Talent, and before they kick off their headlining Glory Days Tour, Chapel Hart has a new song to share with their fans. The trio, made up of sisters Danica and Devynn Hart and cousin Trea Swindle, announce the release of “Glory Days,” out on Friday, January 20.

“This single is so exciting for us because we are currently living in our ‘Glory Days!’” Chapel Hart shares. “The beauty of it all is that there are some folks who’ve been where we are, there are some who are in it with us, and there are some who haven’t made it there yet, but the song ‘Glory Days’ allows us to ALL join in, sing along and celebrate them together! It’s an instant jump in the car and go for a ride anthem!!!!”

Chapel Hart will appear at the Grand Ole Opry, currently being held at the Ryman Auditorium, on Saturday, January 21, as part of an all-star tribute to Dolly Parton. The group will also sing “Glory Days,” as well as “Welcome to Fist City,” in honor of Loretta Lynn.

“You don’t grow up in the country and you don’t grow up on country music [without the Opry being the] pinnacle for you as a musician,” Danica tells the Nashville Scene. “So wanting to sing there has always been the dream, and there is absolutely no other feeling like standing in that circle. Oh my God. Where everyone in country music has stood. Well, not everyone — everybody don’t get the chance.”

Chapel Hart earned high praise from Lynn, after their AGT audition, where they sang “You Can Have Him, Jolene,” in tribute to Parton’s “Jolene.”

“I love it, ladies,” Lynn commented on social media at the time. “Now I’m wondering what you might be able to do with one of my songs!”

Unfortunately, Lynn passed away before she could hear “Welcome to Fist City,” but it still felt important for Chapel Hart to honor the music icon.

“It definitely is intimidating,” Trea admits. “One thing Danica’s always said, she’s like, ‘If you’re gonna do a cover, it either has to be just as good or better.’ And even though it’s not a cover, you still want to pay homage to that person and, you know, do them proud. So in a sense there, the pressure is definitely there. But we did let Loretta’s granddaughter Tayla hear the song after Loretta passed, and her face just lit up.

“It just made my heart so happy,” continues Danica. “We let her hear it and she’s like, “Awww, Meemaw would’ve loved this!” There’s some relief in that, but also as a songwriter, it’s more of just an honor to be able to be part of that story, to be an extension of a story. To be able to say, ‘Loretta tried to warn you that she’d take you straight there and you didn’t listen.’ And so now it’s ‘Welcome to Fist City.’ It’s a beautiful thing.
