Carly Pearce Finally Gets to Perform at Luke Bryan’s Crash My Playa

Carly Pearce is no longer experiencing any jealousy about the artists that get to perform at Luke Bryan‘s Crash My Playa, since she is now one of them. The “What He Didn’t Do” singer is part of the all-star Crasy My Playa lineup this year, which takes place from January 19 to 23 in Riviera Cancun, Mexico.

“I’ve been telling Luke for years I want to go to Crash My Playa,” Pearce admits to her record label. “And so, he told me, ‘Alright, you’re gonna go. I promise, I promise.’ I always have FOMO that I’m not there, and so I’m really excited to go. Luke is one of the craziest, funniest people I’ve ever met in my life, so I can only imagine what you do when you get Luke down with tons of tequila and a beach. So, I can’t wait.”

Pearce joins more than a dozen other artists performing at the annual beachside event, including Lionel Richie, Chris StapletonCole SwindellAshley McBrydeBrian KelleyChase Rice,  Dylan Scott, Dustin Lynch and more.

The 32-year-old enjoyed some time at home over the holidays, but she will soon head back out on the road. Pearce will serve as the opening act for Blake Shelton on his Back to the Honky Tonk Tour, which kicks off on February 16. She also is working on a new album, which she says will show how some of the biggest female artists in country music, including  Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire, are influencing her and her career.

“Obviously, at the top of my list is creating great music,” Pearce told BMLG of her goals for 2023. “I saw how much that changed everything for me. At the end of the day, what we do is put out music, and that’s what kind of continues on our trajectory of what happens next. So, I think making this next record as good or better as 29 is super important to me. But I think past just the music stuff, I want to be the women that I love, the Dollys, the Rebas. They’re household names.

“So, I want to figure out what is my version of that,” she adds. “You know, is that doing something outside of music? Is that just expanding and kind of stretching? I know I can do music, but what else can I do within that umbrella of just challenging myself?”
