Cole Swindell Reveals Why He Refuses to Use Dating Apps: ‘That Seems a Little Dangerous’

Cole Swindell is spending most of his time at home, instead of on the road, due to COVID-19, where he says he is very much alone. The Georgia native is very single, maybe at least partly because he refuses to use any of the popular dating apps.

“I don’t see how that’s possible,” he said on the Bobby Bones Show. “Honestly, something that I’d like to bring up are fake profiles on Instagram. I wish somebody could do something about that. I can’t imagine a dating site, if that’s on there, so that seems a little dangerous. So I’m not on that but I’m writing a lot, and just waiting on that day.”

Waiting on that day, and working on new music. Cole just dropped “Single Saturday Night,” from an upcoming new album. The video was shot while almost everything was shut down, which Cole said made creating the very, very video interesting.

“We didn’t know what we were going to do,” Cole told Everything Nash and other outlets. “We just knew that we wanted to put the song out, and we had to have a video. With the times we’re in, I was like, ‘Man, it’s going to have to be somewhat of a Zoom-looking video,’ and then just came in with an idea of just me and the band guys.

“We got us all together, not in one place, but we all went by at separate times,” he continued. “It looked like a schedule all day long, who was here when and all that. So the whole band came by; we’re in front of a green screen and doing all that. Then I came last and did all my parts. It was awkward.”

Cole was supposed to be on his Down to Earth Tour this year. While he has no idea when he will actually be able to hit the road, he is anxiously awaiting the day when all of his fans can safely gather again.

“I just know when that day comes, it’s going to be a good one,” Cole said. “I was thinking about that earlier. Our first show back, it’s going to be like the beginning. It’s going to be like our first show ever. It’s going to be a special moment, I think. I’m just listening and hopefully, we can figure out a time to make it happen, ’cause I really want that Down to Earth Tour to happen.”
