George Strait Announces Return to Las Vegas: ‘We Will Finally Ride Again’

George Strait is returning to Las Vegas! The Texas native announced he will resume his Strait to Vegas shows, with two back-to-back concerts at the T-Mobile Arena, on Friday, August 13 and Saturday, August 14.

“The Ace in the Hole Band and I have been looking forward to this day for a year and a half,” Strait announced. “I cannot wait to see Vegas and all of my great fans once again. It’s been way too long. We will finally ride again. See you soon.”

The news comes shortly after Strait announced he would also perform for RodeoHouston in 2022, in honor of the event’s 90th anniversary.

“What better way to celebrate the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s 90th anniversary than with a special, concert-only performance by the ‘King of Country’ music himself,” said Rodeo president and CEO Chris Boleman. “After a couple of particularly challenging years, our thousands of dedicated volunteers simply can’t wait to welcome everyone back to the Rodeo grounds for a Texas-sized celebration of Western heritage that will be well worth the wait.”

The performance will mark Strait’s 31st performance at RodeoHouston, since he made his memorable debut in 1983.

Other RodeoHouston performers have yet to be announced.

Strait was forced to cancel his Las Vegas shows last year, due to the coronavirus pandemic. Tickets for the August 28, 2020 show can be used for the August 13 show, while the August 29, 2020 tickets can be used for the August 14 show. Those unable to attend the new dates are eligible for a refund from the original point of purchase for the next 30 days

Strait also has a show booked on November 13, 2021, at the US Bank Stadium, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. More information on all of Strait’s upcoming shows can be found at GeorgeStrait.com.
