Lainey Wilson and Keith Urban Tease Possible Collaboration

Could something be in the works with Lainey Wilson and Keith Urban? The “Country’s Cool Again” singer posted a video on social media of Urban picking her up to take her to the airport, for the launch of her Lainey Wilson: LIVE Tour, kicking off on March 20 in Melbourne, Australia.

The video begins with Wilson, with her bags packed, hitching a ride to the airport from Urban.

“I’m going to Oz,” Wilson says in the clip. “I’m excited. I’m nervous.” The two continue their banter, with Urban warning her about snakes and “deadly” redback spiders that “love toilet seats,” before dropping Wilson off.

“Can you sleep on planes?” Urban asks, with Wilson responding, “I’m about to find out.”

“Man, I’m so excited to be going to your home,” Wilson says.”

“Honestly?” Urban answers. “I wish I could go home with you. Ooh, that’s a good song title … We should do that. Have a great flight, Lainey.”

Urban will likely announce his next album soon, one that took him a long time to make. He recently opened up about his decision to redo the record, after he realized the one he finished wasn’t the one he wanted to release.

“I hate saying this, but it’s so true: I left that meeting, went out, sat in my car, and I bawled my eyes out,” Urban admitted on Audacy’s Rb + Holly.. “I literally did. I know that sounds pathetic to a lot of people, but after putting in that much work and knowing what was ahead of me workwise, which I didn’t want to do, it just gutted me. It was like being kicked in the stomach. And sure enough, it took a year. It took a year to finish out the record.”

Like Urban, Wilson is also working on a new record, the follow-up to the Grammy-winning sophomore  Bell Bottom Country project.

“I feel like, with every record that I write, and I feel like with even every show that I play, I’m just figuring out who I am a little bit more,” Wilson shared with Everything Nash and other outlets at a recent media event. “And the truth is, I don’t think I can figure it out anymore, but I just do.”

Wilson will follow her Lainey Wilson: LIVE Tour with her headlining Country’s Cool Again Tour, kicking off on May 31 in Nashville, Tennessee. Find all of her music and upcoming shows at LaineyWilson.com.

Urban has yet to announce tour plans, although he said he recorded  “Straight Line,” the first release from his next set of tunes, with the anticipation of playing it live. Keep track of tour updates, and find all of his music, at KeithUrban.com.
