Luke Combs Is ‘Cutting It Close’ In Choosing a Baby Name Ahead of Tour Dates

Luke Combs is going to be a father of two soon, but he still doesn’t know what his second son will be called. The country music hitmaker just wrapped up the United States leg of his World Tour, and will soon head overseas, which means he and his wife, Nicole, need to choose the baby’s name before he returns to touring.

“It’s actually kind of getting down to the wire here because I’m going to tour in Australia here in about out a week,” Combs reveals on Audacy‘s Check In. “Going to be cutting it close with the due date on getting home, so we have to pick out a name in the next couple of days, in case the baby were to come while I’m gone.”

“We’re leaning more towards a family name,” he adds, “but we’re open to anything too.”

By his own admission, the “Fast Car” singer is shocked that he is headlining a World Tour at all. The 33-year-old never imagined that he would one day be able to headline a tour that, quite literally, crosses the globe, with many of the dates sold out.

“This stadium tour has been insane, bigger and better than I could have ever imagined. and just absolutely crazy,” Combs tells his record label. “I never thought that we would be at this point, but here we are, and it’s been amazing. And hopefully, we continue to get to do shows on our level like this for a long time, and just enjoy it while it lasts.“

The North Carolina native might be in danger of missing the birth of his second child, who is due next month, but his family still remains — and always will remain — his first priority.

“I spend a lot of my time at home, really,” Combs maintains. “We’re on tour now, but we, for the most part, play one show a week. So, the rest of the week I’m at home, changing diapers, cooking dinner, I’m just doing the most normal of things unless I’m on stage in front of however many thousands of people. I know that sounds insane. But that’s genuinely what I love doing. I want to be my son’s dad. I want to be my wife’s husband, because I think living as normal of a life as possible is of paramount importance for me personally.”

Combs will resume his World Tour on August 9 in Auckland, New Zealand. He will play in Australia, and then head to Europe before wrapping up on October 20 in London, England. Find music and tour dates at LukeCombs.com.
