Morgan Wallen Embraces Being Single, Puts Focus On His Career

Morgan Wallen is setting the record straight about his love life. The 29-year-old, who just celebrated another No. 1 hit with “Thought You Should Know,” says he is focusing solely on his music, at least for the time being.

“I had a girlfriend, but not recently,” Wallen tells Lon Helton on Country Countdown USA. “I don’t have anybody right now. It’s kind of hard, just how busy I’ve been. I’ve got my son, I’ve got an album, I’ve got a tour. It’s hard to make time for that. I want to, though. I think I’m coming up on my settle down days. But I’m not in a hurry.”

Wallen will turn 30 on May 13, a new decade that he says his friends insist that he celebrates, even if he would be content with something a little more low-key.

“I think it’s a milestone,” Wallen acknowledges. “I don’t feel 30. It’s still kind of crazy to me that I am. My buddies are saying, ‘You’re gonna be 30; we’re gonna have to do something for you,’ so they’re gonna try to throw me some bash. I don’t usually do that kind of thing.”

Wallen’s 36-track One Thing At A Time album is out. The record, released on March 3, includes “Man Made A Bar,” Wallen’s collaboration with one of his biggest musical idols,  Eric Church.

“That was one of the last songs that made the record,” Wallen reveals. “I wasn’t thinking about features. Literally the last week, I thought maybe I should get some of my friends on here. I hollered at Eric, sent him the song, he came in and did it. So it was awesome for me, because I’m such a fan of Eric.”

Wallen says One Thing At A Time is his take on all that has happened in the last couple of years, since Dangerous: The Double Album came out in early 2021.

“This record represents the last few years of my life, the highs and the lows,” Wallen said when the record was released. “It also brings together the musical influences that have shaped me as an artist – country, alternative and hip-hop. There are 36 songs on this album because we just kept exploring with fresh lyrics, music and production ideas and these are the songs that felt right to me. It was a blast to create, and I was so grateful to be back in the studio to lay this out for my fans.”

Wallen will kick off his global One Night At A Time World Tour on April 15. The tour will perform 39 dates in four countries, spanning two continents, including 17 stadiums, plus numerous arenas and amphitheaters. ERNEST and Bailey Zimmerman will join Wallen for all dates, while HARDY and Parker McCollum will join the tour for select dates.
