Reba McEntire, Dan + Shay Team Up for Comedic New ‘The Voice’ Ad [WATCH]

Reba McEntire is returning for Season 25 of The Voice, marking the first time Dan + Shay join the cast of the reality TV talent show.

McEntire and Dan + Shay will be joined for the upcoming season by John Legend and Chance the Rapper, with all of the coaches, along with host Carson Daly, appearing in a new commercial for The Voice.

McEntire, Legend, Change the Rapper and Daly all appear as part of the fictitious The Voice Shopping Network, where the double-chair is being sold.

“Are you a first-ever double coach on The Voice, but not sure how you’re both going to fit in the coach’s chair?” McEntire asks.

“Well, we’ve got just the thing,” continues Chance the Rapper, before Legend shows off the Double Chair S25, causing Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney to rush to their phones from their own home, securing the only double chair in stock.

McEntire loved everything about being on The Voice last season, taking the spot left vacant when Blake Shelton left the show.

“It is a different part of me coming out because it’s non-scripted,” McEntire told Everything Nash and other outlets during a recent virtual media event. “It is. You just go have fun, which I like to do that … And they come up with some of the funniest skits for us to get to do. So it just brought out my personality that a lot of people haven’t seen. If you see a concert, you’ll see a little bit of it. It’s just me being a me.”

The double chair is a first for The Voice, with Dan + Shay also the first to act as joint coaches.

“It’s two chairs, but one button, and they’re actually connected,” Smyers told Variety. “It’s kind of one big platform. It’s definitely a spectacle. We’ve worked with them a lot. You know, we were mentors for Blake’s team … We got to do that show a few times, and I guess that was kind of our tryout back then.”

Dan + Shay are eager to not only represent country music, and work alongside McEntire, but also continue the legacy that Shelton carried for 23 seasons on the hit TV show.

“At the core of it, it’s a lot of fun to be able to represent country music in that space, and Blake had always done that so well,” Smyers remarked. “We felt like we were well equipped to really help people on that show, helping new artists along, and making them better — better people and better artists. We’ve made a lot of mistakes in our life, and have a lot of wisdom to share through those mistakes that we’re gonna be able to share with those artists. and everybody on that team is just so incredible. Reba’s an absolute legend and it’s awesome that they have two country acts on there.”

Dan + Shay just celebrated their tenth No. 1 hit, with “Save Me The Trouble.” The song is from their Bigger Houses album, released in September. They will embark on their Heartbreak On the Map Tour on February 29 in Greenville, South Carolina. All of Dan + Shay’s music and upcoming shows can be found at DanandShay.com.
