McCreery previously hinted that there would be a song about “a love like this” on his new record.

“The day he was born, or maybe it was the day after, I put a post up of him on Instagram,” McCreery said at a media event. “I think all I said was, ‘I’ve never known a love like this’ kind of thing. The song follows that thought process.”

The new song comes as McCreery just released the video for his current single, “Cab In A Solo,” which features Avery in the video.

“This video showcases both the quieter parts of my life like having my son Avery with me in the studio with Frank, as well as the wilder parts of my life such as performing in front of the biggest live audience of my career,” McCreery says.

The American Idol alum just kicked off his Cab In A Solo Tour with a run of sold-out shows.

“The only thing better than launching my new Cab in a Solo Tour with two sold out shows…is to launch it with three sold out shows!”  McCreery said after opening weekend. “Just learned our next show, which is in Durham, is also sold out! The band, crew, and I have been looking forward to this tour since we announced it last fall. Glad to see the fans are excited about it as well!”

McCreery hasn’t revealed a title or release date for his next set of tunes, but he does say it will be a nod to the traditional country music he grew up listening to, and still enjoys today.

“I really tried to go back to what I grew up with and what I love: traditional country music,” McCreery told Wine Spectator. “I’m 30 years old, but I feel like I could have really thrived in the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s. But I grew up in the ’90s, listening to Garth BrooksBrooks & DunnJoe Diffie. I love the classic sound, the guitar, the fiddle, where the storytelling is the center of the song and it’s tied up with a bow at the end. To me, the heart of country music is the storytelling.”

In addition to “Cab In A Solo,” the North Carolina native also released “Can’t Pass the Bar” and Slow Dance” from his new record. Pre-save “Love Like This” here. Find all of McCreery’s music and upcoming shows at ScottyMcCreery.com.
