A new album is here from The Oak Ridge Boys! The four-man group just released Buried Treasures, a ten-track record that is mostly songs The Oak Ridge Boys have loved over the years, along with one new song, “Buried Treasure.”
“Every song on the album is about something that’s dear to us,” Duane Allen says. “These songs are all buried treasures — great songs we’ve loved and sung for years, and this is the first time we’ve brought them all together on one record.”
“It was a lot of fun, reaching back to some of these classic songs,” William Lee Golden adds. “I feel like this album touched on our love of life, love of family, love of our mates that we’ve chosen in life, and also the love of God.”
Songwriter Aaron Raitiere wrote “Buried Treasure.” The record was produced and engineered by Anderson East, and executive produced by Dave Cobb.
What The Oak Ridge Boys Say About “Live Forever” on ‘Buried Treasures’

Included on Buried Treasures is the Billy Joe Shaver classic, “Live Forever.” The video was shot by The Oak Ridge Boys Bridge in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
“The song talks about, the songs that are left behind, they’re gonna live forever,” Golden tells Taste of Country. “His thoughts and his visions and his feelings in that song will continue to live forever, even after he’s gone. And that’s what it is.
“Billy Joe’s not with us anymore,” he adds. “But it’s a great song, and fun to sing, and certainly the most fun having the Oak Ridge Boys harmonizing on that chorus.”
The Future Of The Oak Ridge Boys
The Oak Ridge Boys enjoyed 50 years with Allen, Golden, Joe Bonsall, and Richard Sterban as the lineup. Bonsall passed away in 2024 from ALS, with Ben James replacing him. And now, Sterban is taking some time off as he battles pancreatic cancer. Aaron Lee McCune is filling in for Sterban.
But according to Golden, a change in the lineup isn’t a bad thing. In fact, Golden hopes that The Oak Ridge Boys continue long after he, Allen, and Sterban are no longer around.
“I think they should,” Golden says. “That’s how we got here. Someone else left and passed the torch to a new generation, and the new generation’s standing by Duane and I. We’re the old veterans in the Oak Ridge Boys, but these new guys have brought a brand-new energy and a talent that’s capable of taking this group into the future.”
