Thomas Rhett Was Placed on Vocal Rest Due to Voice Problems

Thomas Rhett is giving an update on his voice, after being forced to cancel a show in San Diego last month, due to vocal problems. Rhett reveals on social media that he was placed on vocal rest, but is now able to resume his Bring The Bar To You Tour.

“I just want to say thank you so much for all the well wishes over the last ten days,” Rhett says. “The doctors over at Vanderbilt had put me on vocal rest. My cords were pretty daggum swollen and inflamed. It’s been a week, for sure. I think it’s the quietest I’ve been in about a decade. But I just went back this morning and they checked my cords again. All the inflammation is down, so I’ve been cleared to go, cleared to sing.

“And so, I will see you all in Tuscaloosa on Thursday,” he continues. “Really looking forward to that show. But again, I just wanted to hop on here and say thank you all so much for the love and just for the well wishes. Glad to be back, glad to be singing again, and we will see you all in Alabama on Thursday.”

It was only a couple of hours before Rhett was set to take the stage in San Diego when he made the last-minute announcement that he would not be able to perform.

“It breaks my heart to say this but unfortunately I am not able to sing tonight due to vocal irritation and swelling and we are having to cancel the show at North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre,” Rhett said at the time in a message he penned to his fans. “I am so sorry this announcement is so close to show time. For those of you who have already traveled to the show I sincerely apologize. We’ve been working all day to try and make the show happen, but it’s just not going to be possible and have been advised not to perform this evening.

“Everyone will be offered a refund at point of purchase,” he added. “I love you, Home Team and hate that we are unable to play for you tonight.”

Rhett is having so much fun on his Bring The Bar To You Tour that he decided to extend it into 2023 with a series of shows in Canada. Jordan Davis and Kameron Marlowe will serve as Rhett’s opening acts. Find music and tour dates at ThomasRhett.com.
