Brett Eldredge Releases Inspiring New ‘Good Day’ Video: WATCH

Brett Eldredge just released a new video for his current single, “Good Day,” showing clips from his fans across the country. From a marriage proposal to thanking nurses and teachers, random acts of kindness and more, the new “Good Day” video drives home the message Eldredge wants to share with his inspiring new single.

“In our society everybody feels like we need to put on that perfect outer look. I got so tired of that. I didn’t want to do it anymore,” Eldredge explained. “This song says, have the self-awareness… of being like, ‘I’m gonna make this a good day no matter what is thrown at me. I’ve been somebody who’s kind of scared of vulnerability a little bit, but I’ve started to realize that opening up and telling someone your thoughts and what’s going on in your world and having them help you find ways to cope with it is a big deal.”

Eldredge has been very vocal about his own struggles with anxiety and depression, which is partly what inspired “Good Day.”

“I was in a place in my life where I was getting self-aware of the moments where I get very negative about things,” Eldredge told Everything Nash and other outlets, during a virtual media event. “Even when I woke up in the morning, the decision to wake up and not focus on the negative things and say, ‘I’m going to have a good day, regardless of what’s thrown at me,’ was a big message for myself to learn, because I can find a lot of things to be negative about.

“And obviously in the modern world, and where we live right now, we’ve gone through hell in the last little while,” he continued. “Being able to to try to find some optimism and say, ‘You know what? I’m going to have a good day, and and spread that optimism around. I’m going to wake up and have a good day. Even if there’s a lot of negative things. I’m going to put my best self forward. I’m going to be there for other people. I’m going to be there for myself, and I’m going to have a good day.’ Make that decision when you wake up.”
