Carly Pearce Celebrates Her 32nd Birthday by Opening for Kenny Chesney

It was the dream tour invitation for any artist, and Carly Pearce got to celebrate not only earning a coveted slot on Kenny Chesney‘s tour, but her 32nd birthday as well, which happened to fall on opening night. Pearce is currently crossing the country on Chesney’s Here and Now Tour, which opened on April 23 in Tampa, Florida, one day before Pearce’s birthday.

“I wish I could tell little Carly that one day she would be celebrating her birthday weekend opening up for []Kenny Chesney],” Pearce posted on social media. “First night of the #hereandnow tour!!!!”

Pearce joins Dan + Shay and Old Dominion in serving as the opening acts on Chesney’s massive tour. After recently opening for Lady A on their What a Song Can Do Tour, as well as headlining her own The 29 Tour, Pearce says there is no one she would rather be on the road with right now than Chesney.

“I’ve loved Kenny Chesney forever, and he’s become a friend of mine over the last year,” Pearce said. “He’s honestly been a mentor, and I’m so excited to get to watch his show every night, and hopefully learn something every night. I feel like he’s the King of Country Music for touring.”

Chesney celebrated the opening night of his Here and Now 2022 Tour with more than 58,000 fans, toasting his return to live shows with his first stadium tour in four years.

“I knew it was going to be good,” Chesney says of opening night. “But this was other level stuff – the way they filled the stadium with light from the moment ‘Anything But Mine’ started, the way they pushed back ‘Noise’ like they were singing for their lives, the relief and reassurance. I could hear it in their choruses of ‘Everything’s Gonna Be Alright.’ If music holds people together, it also brings them together – and lets them release so much of what’s locked inside.

“After four years, we were together again — and we were going to squeeze every last drop and bit of passion out of every single song,” he adds.

In addition to celebrating her birthday, Pearce can also celebrate having a Top 5 hit, with her “Never Wanted to Be That Girl” duet with  Ashley McBryde. Find all of Pearce’s music and tour dates here.
