Carly Pearce Drops ‘Should’ve Known Better (Live From Music City)’ [LISTEN]

Carly Pearce‘s 29: Written in Stone (Live From Music City) will be out on March 24. Ahead of the album’s release, which was recorded during Pearce’s Marathon Music Works intimate concert event in Nashville last year, the Kentucky native just dropped a new track from the project.

“Should’ve Known Better (Live From Music City)” is available now. Pearce shared the news on social media.

Pearce wrote “Should’ve Known Better” with Jordan Reynolds and Emily Shackleton. The song first appeared on her seven-track 29 EP, before later including it on 29: Written in Stone as well.

“‘Should’ve Known Better,’ is kind of to me, as an adult, something that you probably wrestle with more of trying to not assign too much blame to yourself and also calling it is what it is,” Pearce said at the time. “I wanted to take both sides of it and show that a lot of times there are things that you overlook and there are things that maybe you, in the end, know that you should’ve known.”

“I think as you grow and go through life and you go through all different kinds of relationships, you learn that and you figure that out and hopefully you’re better for the next,” she added.

Pearce just celebrated a No. 1 hit with  “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” duet with Ashley McBryde. She is back with another Top 5 single, this time “What He Didn’t Do,” also from 29: Written in Stone.

“I’ve never had a song that just organically, socially — people asked for it in everything I do, whether it’s online or in a tweet or in a DM, or if I’m doing an interview,” Pearce shared. “Radio stations have asked about it. I think that’s the power of — people may think that I write too much of my story, but for me, that’s my duty, and I feel like when I’m writing my story, I’m writing other people’s story, and this song proves it.”
