Charlie Daniels and the Gatlin Brothers Both Release Humorous Star-Studded Quarantine Videos: Watch

Neither Charlie Daniels or the Gatlin Brothers have lost their sense of humor, even during the coronavirus pandemic. Both acts have made comedic quarantine videos, each featuring some of country music’s most-beloved stars.

Charlie Daniels’ video, “Geechi Geechi Ya Ya Blues,” stars Alabama’s Randy Owen, The Oak Ridge Boys, Ray Stevens, Larry Gatlin, Crystal Gayle, Rhonda Vincent, Lorrie Morgan, Collin Raye, TG Sheppard and T. Graham Brown. Charlie first included the song on his 2018 Beau Weevils — Songs in the Key of E record.

“I still marvel at my son, Charlie Jr., for being able to take all these people, who were in totally different places, record them remotely and put the whole thing together for such a fun video,” Charlie said in a statement. “I’m just an analog guy living in a digital world. Thanks to all my friends for helping out.”

Charlie also appeared in the Gatlin Brothers’ video, singing Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again,” along with numerous other acts, including Ray Stevens, Pam Tillis, Aaron Tippin,  Steve Wariner, Terry Bradshaw, Johnny Bench, Carl Jackson. TG Sheppard also appeared in the video, and was happy to join several of his famous friends in performing the cover tune remotely.

“It was a blast to be invited to do this fun video with Larry, Steve & Rudy,” TG told Everything Nash. “It was great to be involved with this project because I was starting to come down with a strong case of cabin fever. I personally can’t wait to get back on the road again.”

Larry Gatlin was eager to not only gather his friends together, even if it was only online, as well as honor one of his own musical heroes.

“Willie’s likeness should be on Mount Rushmore,” Larry said. “This is our tribute to our old Texas buddy. Willie Hugh Nelson, from Abbott, Texas, ‘on loan’ to the world from somewhere in outer space. He ain’t of this world. I mean that in a good way. Wherever you are right now, Will, just know that Larry loves ya. So does the rest of the world.”
