Combs and Nicole initially planned on a larger, more lavish wedding, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, chose to have an intimate ceremony, instead of waiting until large crowds could gather again. In hindsight, the Grand Ole Opry member says it worked out perfectly.

“My wedding was gonna be really big, and we had to change venues a week before. We had to cut our guest list by like 70 percent, and it ended up being so awesome,” Combs told told Radio.com, after the ceremony. “I think back on it now and we wouldn’t have even gotten to talk to everyone at our wedding if it wasn’t the size that it became.”

Still, Combs does have some regrets that Nicole didn’t have the wedding of her dreams, one she spent a lot of time working towards.

“My wife worked really, really hard to settle that stuff up,” Combs conceded. “We did have a wedding planner that she worked with, but [Nicole] was very heavily involved in the entire process. So, we were really looking forward to it being a certain way, and a certain thing. At the end of the day, that ended up not mattering because it was still really beautiful and it was everything that I wanted it to be, but I also want to be able to give her that thing that she spent so much time doing.”

“She put so much time into it being this beautiful thing for everybody that we wanted to be there, and then that wasn’t able to happen,” he added. “So that kind of bums me out a little bit, for her.”

Combs and Nicole are the proud parents of one-year-old son, Tex, and are expecting another son next month.

The 33-year-old is currently on his World Tour, which means he doesn’t always get to be as hands-on as he would like. Fortunately, he still feels close by, thanks to the many pictures Nicole sends him while he is away from home.

“I think the thing that blew me away most was how much of a serotonin dump there is, just looking at a picture of him on my phone or getting a picture from my wife or a little video of my wife,” Combs said on SiriusXM’s The Highway. “It just makes my whole day. It can make you feel instantly amazing just seeing them in their little chair, bouncing around or whatever they are doing. It’s amazing, something so simple.

“It almost feels like in a way that I am a kid again, because there aren’t things when you’re 30 years old that are just so small of things that can make you so gratified and so happy,” he added. “I think a child’s laughter or a smile from your kid, it just melts you.”
