Reba McEntire is doing her part to help fans celebrate the holidays. The Country Music Hall of Fame member announces the release of Reba: The Ultimate Christmas Collection, featuring 11 of McEntire’s favorite previously-released Christmas songs, along with a new track, “I Needed Christmas,” which is from her Christmas in Tune Lifetime TV movie, released last year.
“I’m excited to share this newly packaged collection of my all-time favorite Christmas songs,” McEntire says. “It was so hard to narrow down to just twelve songs, but I hope my fans enjoy this journey through time!”
McEntire will resume her Reba; Live in Concert Arena Tour this fall, with Terri Clark serving as her opening act. The 67-year-old, who also stars in the upcoming movie, The Hammer, says she still feels most at home in front of a live audience.
“I enjoy being on stage,” McEntire admitted on The Bobby Bones Show. “I love getting in front of an audience. I always have loved touring. Of course, everybody gets tired, and is ready to go do something else, but touring’s been very good for me and my family, and my organization. We absolutely crave it.”
McEntire has headlined many different tours over the years, with different songs on her setlist. But one thing remains consistent: how she ends her concerts each night.
“The encore’s always ‘Fancy,’” McEntire revealed. “We don’t leave until ‘Fancy’ is the last song. Everybody loves it. It’s spectacular visually. It’s a great song. Bobbie Gentry had a No. 1 record with it in the ’60s, and I recorded it in ’90 with Tony Brown. It wasn’t a No. 1 record, but it’s the song that everybody wants to hear, and when I sing ‘Fancy,’ everybody says, ‘OK, she’s over. It’s done. The show’s over, and we can go home.’”
