Jason Aldean is adding a special guest to one of his shows on his Rock N’ Roll Cowboy Tour: Scotty McCreery! The father-to-be reveals on social media that he will be joining Aldean for a show on September 16 in Saratoga Springs, New York.

“Pumped about doing this show with Jason Aldean on Sept. 16 in Saratoga Springs!!” McCreery announced.

 

Aldean’s Rock N’ Roll Cowboy Tour was originally scheduled to include Gabby Barrett for all dates. After Barrett announced she was expecting another child. Aldean added  Travis Tritt, Tracy Lawrence and Chase Rice to serve as the opening acts for the second leg of the tour.

The news comes on the heels of McCreery celebrating a three-week No. 1 hit with “Damn Strait.”

“This song is such a great tribute to one of my musical heroes,  George Strait, while also using his song titles in a clever way to tell such a heartbreaking story,” McCreery said of “Damn Strait.” “I’ve loved it from the moment I first heard it. It is one of my favorite songs that I’ve recorded, and the fans love it in concert as well. You can feel the anticipation in the air as they get ready to sing along on the chorus.”

Touring will soon look a little different for McCreery, when he and his wife, Gabi, welcome their first child, a boy, into the world this fall. Although he hasn’t arrived yet, the American Idol alum is already making plans for how to tour with a baby on board.

“We’re going to try to expand the road family and have a little crib in the bank and get them used to it at an early age,” McCreery shared with Everything Nash and other outlets during a recent media event. “I don’t see that part of my life changing any time soon. Hopefully as far as the touring aspect — we’re road dogs out there right now, we’re as busy as we’ve been in my career. I think right now, even pre-pandemic. It’s crazy.”

McCreery will be joined by Dee Jay Silver and John Morgan in serving as the opening acts for Aldean’s September 16 show. Tickets for all of McCreery’s upcoming shows can be found here.
