Thomas Rhett is Eager to Take His Daughters on the Road in 2021

Thomas Rhett is getting quite used to being a full-time dad. The father of three has enjoyed spending time at home with his family, even if it means, according to him, watching Frozen 2 350 times. In fact, he is enjoying his time with his little girls so much, he is already eager to take his daughters with him when he resumes touring next year.

“I’m ready for a break, for sure,” Thomas told CMT‘s Cody Alan. “I think when next summer rolls around and we get back on the road, it’s going to be really tough to leave. My kids got so used to me being Dad on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and not on weekends, so now that I’m here 24/7, seven days a week, they’re going to be like, ‘You work? You have a job?’ So it will be different, but I can’t wait.

“They’ll be so much older then, that it will be so much fun to take them on the road, and I think they’ll appreciate it that much more,” he added.

Thomas and his wife, Lauren Akins, currently have four-year-old Willa Gray, 3-year-old Ada James, and Lennon Love, six months. While it may seem like a lot, at this point the Georgia native thinks he could handle a few more.

“I thought that adding three to the mix would be a lot harder but it really just tacks on a little bit to the chaos,” Thomas stated. “I think when you have more than two kids, you could have five, six, seven. I mean, it does get harder but I think that as they kind of become into that one and a half year old to two year range it starts to get little bit easier. I would say the infant stage is definitely the hardest. But I think once Lennon starts to get six months to a year, I think it’s gonna be just fine.”

Lauren just released a memoir, Live in Love: Growing Together Through Life’s Changes, detailing much of the family’s personal life, including her struggle with giving up her dream of being a nurse, and adopting Willa Gray from Uganda. The book is available for purchase at LaurenAkins.com.

Thomas planned on being on his Center Point Road Tour in 2020. Those dates have been moved to 2021. Find more information at ThomasRhett.com.
