Tim McGraw Celebrates ‘7500 OBO’ Hitting No. 1, Announces New Music

The hits keep coming for Tim McGraw, who is celebrating his 45th No. 1 single, with “7500 OBO.” Fortunately, he isn’t resting on his laurels too long. The Louisiana native announced on social media that new music would soon be on its way.

“Thanx Country Radio for making ‘7500 OBO’ the #1 record this week!” McGraw tweeted. “We’ve got new music coming soon! Buckle in!!”

The 55-year-old says having 45 chart-topping singles is especially meaningful to him, because of the significance that number has to his father, Tug McGraw, who passed away in 2004.

“[45] is a pretty special number in our family because, as a lot of people know, my dad was a professional baseball player, and his number was 45,” McGraw shared with his record label. “And he passed on at age 59 quite a few years back, and so I think that song will be special because of that number.”

McGraw previously revealed that he had a new record coming, following his 2020 Here on Earth project.

“I’m in the middle of it,” McGraw divulged on Country Countdown USA. “I’ve probably mixed eight so far, and will record a few more soon. I’m always looking to beat what I did last time. I’m sure we’ll have something off the new album here before too long. I don’t know when the album will drop.”

McGraw loved “7500 OBO,” written by Nathan Spicer, Matt McGinn and Jennifer Schott, but he also loves the video for the song, which stars his youngest daughter, Audrey.

“I’ve done a lot of videos in my career, but this is pretty cool,” McGraw explained last year. “When the idea for this video came in for ‘7500 OBO,’ instead of it being  a story about a guy and his truck, we made it a story about a teenage girl and her truck.”

“When the treatment came in, they really wanted my youngest daughter, Audrey, who’s 19, because they had seen photos of Audrey, who does some modeling and stuff,” he continued. “First of all I asked the boss, my wife, and then I asked Audrey, after Faith approved. That was one of the coolest things I’d done, is work with her in the video, and just watch her perform. and watch her act. My girls are the light of my life. They’re the sweetest things in the world, and I’m just so proud of her.”
