Tyler Hubbard Releases ‘Dancin’ In The Country’ EP and Title Track [LISTEN]

Tyler Hubbard‘s six-track new EP, Dancin’ In The Country is out, along with the record’s title track. Hubbard released all six songs ahead of his forthcoming solo debut album, which will be out on January 27.

Both Hubbard and his future tour boss had a hand in writing the title track of Dancin’ In The Country.

“’Dancin’ In The Country’ is just a really fun, uptempo country song that I’m super excited to play live,” Hubbard shares with his record label. “I was fortunate enough to get to write this with Ross Copperman, Jon Nite and Keith Urban, who’s just incredible as a writer and a guitarist, and he and Ross Copperman really helped capture the feel and emotion of this song sonically and also me and Jon Nite really tried to dial in the lyrics and they were also very helpful with that.”

The 35-year-old reveals that his time at home with his family also served as an inspiration for the feel-good track as well.

“[It was] just an incredible day of songwriting and a really cool song that came from it,” Hubbard shares. “And, a song that sounds like nothing else on the project, and honestly, a song that was inspired by these nightly dance parties we’ve been having in my house after dinner. Me and the three kids and my wife, we go in the playroom, turn the party lights on just about every night and have a dance party. So, this is one of those songs that always worked in the dance parties and feels like something that’ll be really fun to take on tour and play live and hopefully get the crowd moving the way the kids do during the dance parties. So, ‘Dancin’ In The Country’ is just a fun one.”

Dancin’ In The Country also includes “5 Foot 9,” written about his wife, Hayley, even if he did get one important detail in the song wrong.

“I’ve got to be honest. I have a confession. I missed it by an inch,” Hubbard admitted to Everything Nash and other outlets during a virtual media event. “She’s actually 5 foot 10 inches. I went home at night and said, ‘Babe, remind me again how tall you are exactly. You’re about 5 foo 9?’  She said ‘5 foot 10 inches.’ And I said, ‘Well, here’s a new song I wrote today. I’m sorry I cut you short by an inch, but I hope you like it.’”
