Amy Grant and Vince Gill Release ‘Christmas Traditions’ Collection

Amy Grant and Vince Gill are already known for celebrating the holiday season with their annual Christmas at the Ryman residency, but now they have another way to help fans get in the Christmas spirit. The two singers just released their first collaborative collection of Christmas songs, called Christmas Traditions.

Grant announced the new project on social media.

Christmas Traditions includes some of both of their Christmas classics released over the years, including Grant’s “Breath of Heaven (Mary’s Song),” “Grown-Up Christmas List” and “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” along with Gill’s “The Christmas Song,” “O Holy Night” and “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” among others.

Grant recently returned to performing, four months after her bike accident, with her joint Christmas With Amy Grant & Michael W. Smith tour.

“After a season of healing at home, it was good to be back on stage with Michael W. Smith, Michael Tait and my musical family …Thank YOU for your many prayers over the last few months and as my healing continues. I hope to see some of your familiar faces in the audience over the next few weeks,” Grant said.

The gospel singer was forced to postpone her fall tour dates to continue her recovery. Although disappointed to not spent those months on the road, the 62-year-old says she is now grateful for the season of rest.

“It has been the quietest season of my life,” Grant told The Washington Post.  “There are times in our lives where we can just be so busy that you’re present, but you’re also ticking off that list of things that need to be done. Or somebody sits down for a conversation and you’re giving 100 percent attention, but you also can’t make the next thing on the calendar completely go away. That was the biggest adjustment.”

Grant is one of the recipients of the Kennedy Center Honors, along with  U2, Gladys Knight, George Clooney, and composer and conductor Tania León.

“The timing of this … it’s really given me the opportunity to look at the majority of my life,” Grant acknowledged. “And kind of, I don’t know — just wrap my arms around the whole thing. I mean, that’s a gift for anybody.”

The Kennedy Center Honors ceremony will take place on Sunday, December 4, and air on Wednesday, December 28, on CBS. Find tour dates at AmyGrant.com. Grant and Gill’s Christmas Traditions is available across all streaming platforms.
