Blake Shelton Drops Throwback ‘No Body’ Song and Video [WATCH]

Blake Shelton is back with a fun new song and video, with “No Body.” The song, from a forthcoming new album, was written by Rodney Clawson, Chris Tompkins and Josh Kear.

In the performance video, Shelton not only brings back his infamous mullet, but the ’90s era of line-dancing as well.

Shelton previously said that he was especially eager to release “No Body,” in part because it reminded him of why he feel in love with country music in the first place.

“I get excited and feel like a kid every time we release new music,” Shelton says. “But this song in particular takes me back to the ‘90s when I was in high school and first moved to Nashville, because it feels like what the music sounded like at that time.”

Shelton will return for Season 22 of  The Voice, with Jimmie Allen serving as his Battle Round Advisor.

“We’ve met on occasion at awards shows and music industry events, but literally nothing more than, ‘Hey, how you doing, good to meet you,'” Shelton tells Access. “I’ve watched him. I’ve watched his career develop. I’ve seen him on all the awards shows and stuff.

“He is just an incredible performer,” he adds, “and he is so focused on what he does and he is clearly just a huge fan of music,”

“No Body” follows Shelton’s latest single,  “Come Back As A Country Boy,” written by HARDY, Jordan Schmidt and Josh Thompson.

“I think this song is an anthem for everyday hardworking country people out there,” Shelton says of “Come Back As A Country Boy.” “We have so much pride in who we are and what we do that, if we ever died and got the chance to live life over again, we probably wouldn’t do it if we couldn’t be country.”

Shelton has plenty of other things to look forward to besides new music. He is working on a new TV show, Barmageddon, along with The Voice host, Carson Daly. Shelton will also be honored in 2023 with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
