Brittany Aldean Resolves to Get Healthy in 2021 on South Beach Diet [EXCLUSIVE]

2021 is already shaping up to be a good year for Jason Aldean‘s wife, Brittany. The mother of two resolves to get healthier in the new year, and is relying on the South Beach Diet to once again get her in top shape.

“I guess my main thing right now is my health, because I’ve just kind of let it all go in 2020, in a lot of senses of the word,” Brittany tells Everything Nash. “I indulged in the food and the drinks and having a good time at the house. My husband’s not doing anything, really. Right now, I’m really starting to work on working out, getting it back together.

“I’m really hoping that the gates open and we’re all back to normal,” she continues. “I want to be prepared health-wise for that to happen. I definitely gained some weight over the year, which I think a lot of people have. I think it’s completely normal, and so I’ve just been starting my South Beach Diet again, working on that.”

Brittany previously used the South Beach Diet to lose weight after the birth of her second child, daughter Navy, who will turn two years old next month.

“Before I had kids, weight wasn’t an issue for me,” Brittany concedes. “I was super active. I danced for a team. I was very, very, very fit. So it was very humbling to have children back-to-back and gain 40 pounds with each, and then be in this place of ‘Wait. I I’ve never felt like this before.’ It was a feeling that was unfamiliar to me, and it was not good. I had the baby blues after having Navy, and I was just not at a good place personally.”

The 33-year-old is quick to clarify that losing weight and being thin isn’t a requirement, especially after the rigors of pregnancy, but rather was something she wanted to do, for her own physical and mental health.

“I don’t think it’s a necessity to really be hard on yourself after having a baby, by any means,” Brittany maintains. “But if it makes you feel better to be healthier and try to look your best — to me that’s important. I like being healthy and strong and fit and active. And so, South Beach just kind of fit with my time after having a baby. Since it worked for me, I continue to do it when I want to get back on my health. 2021, I’m definitely doing that. But the thing about South Beach for me is that it’s easy.”

Brittany’s superstar husband is joining her in her quest to be healthy, after 2020 didn’t work out as well as he had hoped either, in regards to their diets.

“It’s definitely an up and down game, especially right now with everybody at home,” Brittany acknowledges. “So, we both have kind of been fluctuating in 2020. We’re really on it right now, and we’re going to do it for the remainder of the year, and hopefully we’re just going to maintain it and be on it forever”
