Carly Pearce Reacts to Receiving 4 ACM Awards Nominations

Carly Pearce is struggling to find the right words, after being nominated for four ACM Awards. The Kentucky native is nominated for Female Artist of the Year, a category she won last year at the CMA Awards, along with Album of the Year (for 29: Written in Stone), and both Video of the Year and Music Event of the Year, the latter two for her “Never Wanted to Be That Girl” collaboration with Ashley McBryde.

Pearce spoke out about the honor on social media.

“When I get news like this, I almost don’t know what to say,” Pearce admitted. “This has been such a journey, and I take none of it for granted ever. Each one of these nominations means the world to me. Know that! Know how much all of this means to me.”

Pearce was stunned when she heard her name called as the CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, a moment she dreamed about since she was a child.

“You have to know and understand how badly I wanted to win Female Vocalist of the Year,” Pearce said backstage after her win. “As a little girl. I would watch the CMA Awards, see all the women who’d come before and dream one day I might be up there, too. But when it happens? When you’re in the moment? Nothing can prepare you for that, and it’s even more powerful, more exciting than anything I’ve ever felt in my life.”

Pearce might be living out her dreams, but she says in many ways, she is just getting started.

“I think [I’m] just doing everything in my power to continue to solidify my place in country music,” Pearce tells BMLG. “I feel like I’m just getting started. Yes, I’ve had a lot of things happen, but I think just continuing to have more nominations, maybe some more wins. I’d love a Grammy nomination.”

The 2022 ACM Awards will stream live on Prime Video Monday, March 7 at 8:00 PM ET from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
