Between a global pandemic and overcoming throat cancer, no one is more ready to return to life on the road than John Berry. The country music hitmaker just announced dates for his Christmas With John Berry, Silver Anniversary Tour, which will also mark his 25th performance at Macon, Georgia’s Grand Opera House.
“I cannot express the gratitude in my heart enough to be able to share this seasonal tour with fans for 25 years,” Berry says. “With Covid-19 crippling the touring industry this past year, it has given me even more reasons to want to share God’s most precious gift, Jesus, with audiences through Christmas music along with my hit songs.”
Berry was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2019, but has since been given a clean bill of health.
“I’m doing pretty good,” Berry told Everything Nash last year. “I’m starting to put some weight back on. I lost a lot of weight from the chemotherapy. My eating is still kind of weird. I don’t eat a lot, which I think is a wonderful thing. My wife does not think it’s wonderful. It just takes a long time to get over the chemotherapy. It’s just the worst thing ever.”
