Todd Tilghman Releases Personal ‘We Wrote a Story’ for Mother’s Day [WATCH]

Todd Tilghman just released a deeply personal new song, “We Wrote a Story,” in honor of Mother’s Day. The Season 18 winner of The Voice shared the new track on social media, along with the video, which depicts Tilghman and his wife Brooke at various stages of their relationship, including watching their eight children grow up.

” had a complete idea for a song, and when that happens I can’t sleep until I write it,” Tilghman explained. “So I did. This song is my Mother’s Day gift to Brooke Tilghman.”

Tilghman and Brooke both detailed their relationship in their book, Every Little Win: How Celebrating Small Victories Can Lead to Big Joy, released in 2021.

“The way I see it, as exciting as the people who are on this journey with us are about it. I feel there’ll probably be a little backlash,” Tilghman told Everything Nash last year. “That’s what happens when you put yourself out there. A lot of people are really interested in The Voice.  I have to be really particular about what I say and what I don’t say, because you can’t really tell a lot. It’s a TV show, so you can’t really talk about a few of those things.”

Tilghman, who just released “Worth It All” with Rita Springer, also recently dropped another song, this one about parenting. “Slow Down,” written by Priscilla Block, Jared Hovis and Nathan Perry. He hints more music, and a lot of it, will be coming from him throughout the year, of all different styles and genres.

“If I’m gonna be independent, I might as well just do whatever I want to do, instead of doing what I feel like I should do to get me to a certain end,” Tilghman previously told Everything Nash. “That sort of switched around a little as far as what project I’m gonna put out first, I’m working on some different things.”
