Both Tilghman and The Swon Brothers have been busy releasing new music. Tilghman just released the powerful anthem, “Dig My Grave,” a song he wrote with Southbound’s Clint Brown and Sam Nobles,

“On the surface, it’s really just a Biblical truth, that this life is not all there is,” Tilghman said on the Rob Patz Project. “One of these days, we have a promise from the Scripture — it might not be our favorite Bible promise — but we all have a promise that our hearts are going to stop beating and this life will end. But that’s not the end. And so that’s what the song is about. But aside from that, it’s a jam. It really is … It’s really like a rock, swampy song, but it’s a gospel song.”

The Swon Brothers wrote the title track of Blake Shelton‘s Body Language album, released in 2021. They first had a different title for the song, and intended to keep it for themselves, until fellow Oklahoma native Carrie Underwood suggested it was good enough for another artist to record. After sending songs to Shelton’s longtime producer, Scott Hendricks, for 20 years, they finally landed a cut, with Shelton.

“So many things had to happen for this to end up as the title track of a Blake Shelton record,” Colton told The Tennessean. “So, thank you, Carrie. And, when you have Blake Shelton telling you, ‘You guys are good enough,’ it gives you a boost of energy big enough to keep going another 20 years.”

The Swon Brothers, whose latest album, Nashlahoma, was released in 2020, also just dropped a new song, “If Whiskey Could Talk,” which they wrote together with Michael Farren.

“I’ve always heard it said you need a good drinking song if you’re gonna sing country music,” Zach says of the song.  “We just thought about what it would be like if the drink itself did the writing.”

“We debuted this song live on the Opry last fall and were floored when the audience gave us such an incredible response, so we knew we had to release it,” adds Colton.
