Tracy Lawrence and Clay Walker Add Alexandra Kay to Fall Tour

Alexandra Kay is reprising her role as the opening act for Tracy Lawrence and Clay Walker‘s co-headlining tour. The rising star, who joined the two singers for a few shows earlier this year, will return to open for Lawrence and Walker for a series shows in November.

Lawrence announced the news on social media.

The “Skip This Part” singer earned high praise from both Lawrence and Walker, for her impressive cover of some of their biggest hits she posted on TikTok earlier this year, including “She Won’t Be Lonely Long,” “Paint Me a Birmingham,” “If I Could Make a Living,” and “Find Out Who Your Friends Are.”

Lawrence and Walker began their joint tour in 2021, and had so much fun performing shows together, they decided to continue into 2022.

“We’ve been talking about it for so long,” Walker told Everything Nash. “We’ve talked about this probably for 15 years, and we never did it. Finally we saw each other — I don’t know where it was, probably an awards show or something — and we just looked at each other. We said, ‘Let’s quit talking about it. Let’s just do it.’”

Although both Lawrence and Walker continue to release their music, they vow their shows will always include some of their biggest hits.

“Tracy and I both have to look at it like a fan does, ’cause we’re both fans of country music too,” Walker explained. “You know, if I could go see George Strait, I don’t want to hear new stuff … Tracy and I both, we have too many hits to get done in one show, honestly, with both of us on stage, and that’s a good thing. But we also have worked hard, both of us, to make a new album, and there’s a lot of heart and soul that goes into that. And so we won’t fill up the night with new material, but I think both of us will at least do one off of our new record.”
