Scotty McCreery Performs ‘Damn Strait’ At the Grand Ole Opry [WATCH]

Scotty McCreery enjoyed his fifth No. 1 hit with “Damn Strait,” a song from his Same Truck album that reigned at the top of the charts for three weeks. McCreery brought the song to his favorite venue, the Grand Ole Opry, during one of his recent performances.

“Always love performing on the Grand Ole Opry stage,” McCreery shared on social media. “This performance of “Damn Strait” is from Valentine’s Day a couple of weeks ago. Hope you enjoy!”

McCreery makes performing at the Grand Ole Opry a priority, even amid his busy touring schedule, all but sealing his fate as a future Opry member.

“Country music, it’s something I’ve loved since I was a kid,” McCreery previously told Everything Nash. “The Grand Ole Opry is a huge part of country music history, and why we have country music today, with WSM Radio getting it out there. So it’s a goal of mine.”

The North Carolina native grew up loving country music, which is why he was drawn to the Grand Ole Opry since his time on American Idol in 2011.

“I think everybody knows for me, I grew up on traditional country, and I love where country is at currently,” McCreery shared with Everything Nash and other outlets at a media event last year. “I will always love the genre. I’ll always love the storytelling aspect of country music. And I think the Opry has done a great job of carrying on that classic traditional country, while also embracing what’s going on currently in the format as well. I think they’ve struck a great balance there, and I think the Opry will always be very important to country music.”
