Scotty McCreery’s Heartfelt ‘Love Like This’ Honors His Wife and Son [LISTEN]

Scotty McCreery is celebrating all that is good in his life, with his new song, out now. The 30-year-old just dropped “Love Like This,” in honor of his wife, Gabi, and one-year-old son, Avery.

McCreery shared a clip of the song, which says in part, “I’ve never known a love like this / I’ve never felt this way / Girl, I think I might have thought I did / But everything changed today / ‘Cause I’m looking at you, looking at him / And I don’t have a clue what this feeling is / But watching you give our baby boy a kiss / Now I know I’ve never known a love like this.” McCreery shared the inspiration behind the song on social media.

“Becoming a father is the greatest thing that’s happened to me and watching my wife be a rock star as his Mom has been the joy of my life these last 15 months,” he said.

The American Idol alum previously hinted that he was inspired to write “Love Like This” as soon as his son was born.

“The day he was born, or maybe it was the day after, I put a post up of him on Instagram,” McCreery said at a media event. “I think all I said was, ‘I’ve never known a love like this’ kind of thing. The song follows that thought process.”

It’s fitting that McCreery wrote a song about Gabi, since she has been with him since the very beginning of his career.

“Gabi has been a rock for me,” McCreery told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution of his wife, whom he wed in 2018. “I wouldn’t be here without her. She’s been here for all the ups and downs and has always been my biggest cheerleader.”

McCreery also just dropped the video  for “Cab In A Solo,” his current Top 15 single.

“This video showcases both the quieter parts of my life like having my son Avery with me in the studio with Frank [Rogers], as well as the wilder parts of my life such as performing in front of the biggest live audience of my career,” McCreery says.

In addition to new music and his Cab In A Solo Tour, which began with a series of sold-out shows, McCreery has something else to look forward to: becoming the next member of the Grand Ole Opry.

“I’ll do it all,” McCreery told radio station 94-7 WQDR. “Whatever they’d like me to do. It’s really just an honor to be up there, and be a member. A lot of my heroes are members there, and played that stage. I’ll be there as much as I can, and parade that around the country, and invite folks out … I’ll be there for the rest of my life.”

Both “Cab In A Solo” and “Love Like This,” along with “Can’t Pass the Bar” and Slow Dance,” are from his forthcoming new album, which has yet to be announced.
