Alexandra Kay Drops Video For Her Cover of Blink-182’s ‘Dammit’ [WATCH]

Alexandra Kay just dropped the video for “Dammit.” The song is her unique cover on Blink-182’s 1997 hit, trading their high-energy version for a slow, pensive ballad.

“From a viral tiktok cover … to recording mixing mastering and releasing in a week’s time,” Kay shared on social media when the song was released. “So happy our sad girl version of ‘DAMMIT’ by Blink-182 is out into the world.”

The Illinois native has been on a career high, especially after she joined Tim McGraw on his McGraw Tour 2022. Since then, Kay has been releasing both covers of other people’s songs, as well as her original music, with two of those songs,”How Do We Go” and “Best Worst Ex”  recently receiving more than 10 million streams on Spotify.

“I feel so incredibly grateful today,” Kay tweeted when the news was announced. “The people in my life are a true blessing, the opportunities me and my team are being presented with are gifts from God. I’m working on not taking a single day for granted and soaking in how truly beautiful my life is.”

Kay is back on the road this month, after taking some time away from her fans to work on her debut solo album. She previously released both  “Skip This Part” and her current single, “Backroad Therapy,” which will be part of her forthcoming new project.

“Those were the first two singles off my record that’s coming out at the beginning of the year. I am not gonna release any release dates or anything else on that … It’ll be titled Backroad Therapy,” Kay told Music Mayhem, adding that no one is more eager than her to have the record out for the world to hear. “I’m just really excited for the world to get a full project from me.”

Although Kay hasn’t shared all of the details on the album, she does hint that the music will reflect her whirlwind year she had in 2022.

“It’s a product of the last year, but I definitely still have a few more songs before it’s done, and I just wanna make sure it’s perfect,” Kay shared. “It’s my first full-length project, and I wanna make sure that I give my fans something that they listen to and they know it’s me as soon as it starts spinning. And so I just want them to be as proud of it as I will be.”
