Home Free Releases Scenic Video For ‘So Long Dixie’ [WATCH]

Home Free has released the video for “So Long Dixie,” the title track of their latest album. The five-man group included guitarist Chris Chatham, a frequent collaborator with Home Free, on the song.

“So Long Dixie” is one of several that were inspired by the unexpected time Home Free had off of the road due to the pandemic.

“Downtime these past couple years combined with inspiration from touring again, got Tim [Foust] and Austin [Brown] writing,” Home Free said of their new project. “We all listened and had an idea. We thought this would be the perfect opportunity to do something different and uniquely ours. This collection of songs we feel not only tells great stories, but still holds true to our style you all know and love.”

It’s fitting that Chatham’s guitar skills are on display in “So Long Dixie,” since the typically all-vocal group hinted last year that they were going to do some new things with their latest project.

“We broke the rules on this new album,” Foust revealed. “We did a couple of the songs with instruments, including the title track.”

Home Free has already released “Understand,” “Save the World,” “What’s Left Of My Heart” and “Road Sweet Road” from So Long Dixie.

Home Free recently had to postpone their Nashville show, scheduled to be held at the Ryman Auditorium on December 23, as part of their Home Free Family Christmas Tour, due to weather. That show will now take place on March 5 instead. Home Free will spend much of 2023 on the road, after extending their Road Sweet Road Tour, which began in 2022, due to fan demand.
